Until the appointed time do not say a word.

Habakkuk 2:3 says” For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end and will not prove false. Though it lingers, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not delay.

There are moments in your lives as well as mine when Jesus tells us something and we must wait for the appointed time. Oh, but waiting is so hard for man to do.

God has told His people to wait. Look at how God told Moses, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel that they had to be still and wait for the appointed time. It was not as if God has this big, huge secret that He wanted to keep from the people. No, God was preparing the people’s hearts to receive what God had for them.

Good example was the mother of Jesus, Mary was pregnant and the angel of the Lord told her to go and visit her sister Elizabeth, now why would God tell Mary to visit Elizabeth? But the moment Elizabeth saw her the baby leaped inside of her and Elizabeth” said she was a woman among women who are blessed” and yet Elizabeth knew what Mary is going to face.

Has God spoken to you in your spirit? Telling you to wait the appointed time? If so, my friend I strongly advise you to wait on God’s timing. Do not go before Him. God has an appointed time for you and me as well. May we learn the art of waiting on God.

Oh yeah. He gave me that verse over 20 years ago and He’s used it time and time again to answer/affirm His will. It’s my “sure word” (my rhema word)

Thank you. We must wait on God.

  6. Hello Desiray! For some, waiting is hard! Years ago I wrote a manuscript that our singles used about waiting on God. The beautiful thing about waiting is that it is active waiting and not passive. We can learn more from Him in waiting then we can learn at any other time in our walk! As we wait, we push in to Him to develop a stronger bond with Him. He makes it all worth the wait! Wonderful Jesus!

  7. Well put, Until the Appointed Time, some things won’t be!

Desiray, have you been talking with my pastor? This perfectly dovetails with the sermon we heard yesterday, and it was so helpful. Seriously, this is just confirming what God is doing in my life during a period of waiting that I don’t understand but am trying to endure with grace and peace. Thank you for another piece of heavenly assistance. You are a blessing in my life.

Thanks again, dear sister in Christ!

Hello sis, it is so nice to hear from you. I totally agree with waiting being hard. before I got married. I use to pray for a husband for so many years. After a while I stopped asking God for a husband. It was then that He revealed to me that I need to learn the art of being content in being single.

Needless to say that was not what I wanted to hear but I had to hear and accept the truth.

During those years of being single the Lord began showing me how to be prepared for a husband. It was like He was saying,” you are not even ready for that Ministry yet. There needs to be preparation in my behavior, attitude and the list went on and on.

And you know what sis, God was so right, I was not ready to do that type of Ministry. God revealed to me that Marriage is a Ministry.

Moving fast forward, my husband and I are coming up on our 13 years of marriage.

Believe me when I said I waited for years before the Lord brought my husband to me I waited for some years. Not no two or three years it was years. Most people would of probably given up but I never stopped hoping.

My life has always been about me waiting on God. I never was one to get things so quickly, and for that reason I am grateful that He makes me wait even when I throw a fit like a two year old. I know His timing is always perfect. AMEN
