2 Timothy 4:7, I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
When was the last time you finished anything strong? A simple question, right? And yet each of us would have to give it some thought as to when we finished anything?
Every race comes with a trophy of some sort for the first-place winner. And who does not want to be in first place. Being in first place takes a lot of arduous work. While others in the race they too put the same amount of effort, but they did not come in first place. For there must be a first-place winner, second and so forth. There will always be someone who will beat you to the finish line.
But there is a race that I love more than this worldly race, it is the Spiritual journey that we take with the Lord Jesus. When you are on His journey there are no first-place winners, and second place winners or even losers.
In the book of James he says, Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.
As you are on your journey with the Lord Jesus, remain steadfast in all truths, and when you fall because we will, God said get up and wipe the dust off and continue your walk.
This spiritual race that we must walk through is not timed, we do not compete with other Christians. For we are one body in Christ. Our reward is the crown that Jesus promised to give each of us when we endure till the end.
In closing enjoy the journey with the Lord, be patient with yourself, be teachable. Embrace and absorb all that you have learned. Be a witness to others of His Love, Grace, and Wisdom.
And when you experience days like you cannot make it and you see no steps of your progress remember that Jesus sees you and that He is walking right alongside of you. All you must do is just speak to Him.
Amen. This race is not for the swift – it’s all about endurance. I am so learning to do this patiently and learning how to ‘stay in my lane’…let God be God.
Sis, me and you both. Oh but I do find myself moving out of my own lane at times. When that happens God will nudge me right back in place.
Yes, He does!
I love that we have Jesus with and we can call upon Him! Thank you.
You and me too sis.
Yes, this is good. We have to keep in the race and keep fighting the fight and when we get tired, we pick up His strength and go on!
Exactly, Wendy for it is His strength that causes us to move. For we can never do it on our own.
Inspiring message 😊
Thank you Tangie. Enjoyed your day today.
