Proverbs 3:26 says, For the Lord will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being caught.
1 John 1:9 says, if we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
According to Webster’s the word “confide” means to tell someone about a secret or private matter while trusting them not to repeat it to others:
I am sure we all have confided with someone only later to find out that they did not keep what was private to themselves.
How did that make you feel? Surely, the trust was broken.
One thing I have learned about trusting God is that He never tells anyone about my secrets. For God will never bring shame and condemnation upon me. I am so glad to know that my Lord keeps all my secrets.
When we think about Psalm 139 and how He knows us all so well, why would any of us pretend with God? He sees those things in which we do in secret; He hear those thoughts that we think about to ourselves. So why are we not straight forward with GOD?
Could it be that we are not ready to confess that we have a sin problem? And that confessing would mean that we will have to come face to face with those besetting sin. let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us.
Remember God sees everything so why hide it from Him. Hiding only shows how shameful we are about our sins.
Confession is Good for the Soul.
