Proverbs 14:30 say, A tranquil heart gives life to the flesh, but envy makes the bones rot.
Envy begins when contentment is interrupted by an awareness of the advantages enjoyed by another followed by the determination to seize such advantage. Whether in social standing, material possession or person praise.
To want what others have has become a part of our culture of abundant things accompanied by the expectation that life should continually escalate to something better, easier, and more affluent.
The bible say that envy coexist with every evil thing. Envy is connected to a list of things such as ugly, striving, self-seeking, malice, deceit, hypocrisy, and evil speaking Envy is a disastrous emotion because it displaces our trust that God knows best and will supply our needs.
One can escape envy only by giving your desires to God so that he will satisfy them in his timing and by his ways not ours. When we do so, we find that the love of God transforms your emotions.
Contentment with what you have and whatever state you find your self-places envy. You will receive a new long-range perspective of what is important. Bottom line is never envy what others have. Sadly, every one of us has been guilty of being envy.
