Family Values

Proverbs 22:6 says” Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not depart from it.”

For every home there are rules for every home that does not have rules there is confusion. Children today are growing much faster than you and I did, for we have a new generation of children. With our children able to pick up on things much quicker than we did.

They have the internet and all the electronics from cellphones to video games. And because we have all this the normal family home is not so much normal anymore. The reason being is our children are entertaining themselves with all the thrills an excitement with all these gadgets instead of doing the family gathering time they once knew.

We have parents who work so much just to keep things running smoothly that they neglected their time with the family, so now everyone in the family has been neglected to some degree. This behavior really does break down the family values and causes more harm than anything.

There are some children, who would rather tell their friends what is bothering them then to come to their parents and confined in them. Have times changed that much that the family value system is distorted? I do not believe it has. What I do believe is that we have let the weight of the world tell us what our family values should be.

Then on the flip side of that coin there are some children that retaliate so much against their parents. This leaves the parents asking themselves “why does my child behave this way?” The kid is saying that they hate their mom and dad. Or that they do not love them.

Most of what they are doing is out of their anger. No two homes are the same just like no two children are alike. We must know as parents that a child does not know how to handle their emotions.

Therefore, parents always must always keep line of communication open and ask our kids when they express such emotions, “why did they say those words?”

All these things are as real as you and I. They happen every day in this world rather we chose to believe it or not it happens. We as parents are the ones who have changed, we changed in how we value family relationships.

In closing I would like to add that I for one believe in family values. I believe family value does not have to be broken, just because our world is growing so fast. Nor do I believe that one is to make excuses for throwing out family values in the trash.

People say that our children are the future I say our children is our today. Set today on how you value the family and watch your children tomorrow live by what you have shown them.

I believe in family values too.
A scripture that inspires me when it comes to preserving family values is Psalm 78:1-8. 🙂

The way things are now a days we need family values within the home. Sadly, many families do not even suggest family time together. The family must have morals but also with our roles, beliefs, and attitudes. Thank you for sharing this/

Hello Laura, I agree we do need to keep the family values at the fore front of our homes. Family is so important. Thank you for stopping in and leaving me a comment. I appreciate the kind words. Blessing to you!

Good evening Desirayl. I hope you are having a good evening. I like this post regarding family values. In our society today there is not much of family time. Seems like we have trashed it out the door. When I was a little girl, we had that family time. I think what is missing today in a lot of homes is that they lost connection with each other.
